Who are the Favorites at Augusta?

With Masters week upon us. This expects to be one of the wildest ones in years past. With Justin Thomas playing as hot as anyone, Bubba Watson looking like his old self, Phil Mickelson showing the ability to win again, and the long bomber in Dustin Johnson, who happens to be the number one player int he world. All of those brings their own kind of excitement, but there are not the reason this will be the wildest. The return of Tiger Woods is creating all of the buzz. With Tiger Woods showing signs of his old self, and the talent in golf today, it is hard to see the favorite for the Masters.

The last releasing of odds have Tiger Woods the favorite to win it all, followed by Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson. The hype around Tiger is crazy this year. Especially this being his first Masters since 2015, and him playing like his old. After watching him the last couple months, I also have Tiger as the Favorite at Augusta. The signs are all there: the putting and short game is back, distance control with irons are more dialed in every week, he can escape from anywhere, and the most surprising the speed his back in his swing. With coming close to winning the last two tourney he has played in; expect Tiger to be in contention for his 5th green jacket.

The next favorite in my eyes is Bubba Watson. Bubba is a two time winner of Augusta, and he also has won twice already this year. Bubba game has been the strongest it has been in a while. The power he has in his swing is impeccable, the shot shape is the best in the game, and he has learned to hit different shots than he use to. With the beat down he put on the field at the WGC march play, Bubba confidence at a all time high. Expect Bubba to be ready to contend at Augusta this week.

The last favorite of the Master should not come as a surprise, but may to some. When it is Masters week, you always got to have Jordan Speith at the top of your list. This man has been deadly at Augusta ever since he step foot there. With the beat down he put on the field in 2015, and almost making back to back the following year. Jordan Speith is ready to contend. Even though Jordan has not been as sharp as has been in years past, be ready for Speith to show off his short game, and putting skills this weekend at Augusta.

This Masters is going to be a wild one. With Tiger back in action, and everyone ready to go after that green jacket. This could be one go down in the record books. With this being the shortest field since 1997 (same year Tiger won his first by 12 strokes) this could be one of the best finishes seen in a while. Expect several old names at the top of the leader board come Sunday, with a man going for his 5th green jacket at the top. Happy Masters week everyone!
