Trusting the Process

Since the post-Iverson era, the 76ers have had a hard time trusting any process. Since 2001 the 76ers have seen the lowest of lows. Only winning ten games of 82 in the 2015-2016 NBA season. Still not as worse as the 1973 76ers who went 9-73 but it was close. It has been especially hard for head coach Brett Brown who has had no option but to trust some process since not seeing the NBA playoffs since becoming the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers. Since coaching the 76ers, he has barely scrapped up twenty wins in his past with this team. Up until this year although. Brett Brown and crew have brought back what was once prevalent in Philly in the early 2000's, winning.

The 76ers were the laughing stock of the NBA for the past seasons. Barely winning games and making some questionable decisions in the off-season with free agents and draft picks. You could not say up to this day that the Philadelphia 76ers would make a complete turnaround and be one of the scariest teams in the Eastern Conference. Right now they are on a 14 game winning streak and have evolved into more of a sleeper team in their conference. Right now even without their big man Joel Embiid to bring more flair to their games, the 76ers are balling! They have triple-double machine Ben Simmons who is up for rookie of the year. Markelle Fultz in back in the rotation and is living up to his potential again. J.J. Reddick has continued to be a stellar perimeter shooter. The hype in Philly looks not to be dying out anytime soon. Their victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers this past week has proved the 76ers are here to stay and arguably said that they might just beat the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Philadelphia fans are some of the most passionate fans in all professional sports. And having had the benefit of incredibly talented players wearing the home team jersey, Sixers fans have developed the ability to recognize excellent basketball talent. So when the team wins 14 games and reaches a 50-30 record with three games remaining, these fans know just how rare that is. Philadelphia waited six years to see their team in postseason. You can bet fans will fill the Wells Fargo Arena with hype. Waiting six years fills the appetite. And the Philadelphia 76ers are ready to deliver a feast. General Manager Sam Hinkie has ensured everyone will trust the process.

With all that has gone on towards the end of the season with the Boston Celtics injuries, the Toronto Raptors looking questionable in the playoffs, and the Cleveland Cavaliers being unpredictable it will be hard to count out the Philadelphia 76ers. They are easily coming into the NBA Playoffs as the biggest threat to the rest of Eastern Conference. Maybe they can get to the finals and do what the early-2000's 76ers could not do, and that is bring a championship back to Philly.
